Cleveland Marathon 2018: Race Recap Part 1

This past weekend flew by in a blur of running shoes and all kinds of running fun as part of the 2018 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon race festivities!

Friday:

After closing my work computer, I headed downtown to pick up my race packet and explore the expo for a bit.  The process to pick up my packet was smooth, and I seamlessly moved through the various tables for bib and tshirt pick-up.  Since I ran the Challenge Series, I ended up coming home with three shirts – one for the 5K/8K, one for the 10K/13.1/26.2, and a lightweight hoodie for the Challenge Series events.

After picking up my packet, I enjoyed leisurely exploring the expo and checking out the vendors.  I ended up coming home with new shades from GOODR and look forward to sharing a short review on these soon!  I also grabbed some fuel for race day.

I forgot to take a separate photo – so here’s one from before getting ready to run 26.2!  I love Honey Stinger gels and waffles for race day (the pomegranate gel is AMAZING!).

After running home to change and grab Tim, we headed back downtown to the Reception.  It was a great event filled with yummy food (including gluten-free options, fyi) and I enjoyed finally getting to meet my fellow race ambassadors.

You can check out all of them (and their blogs/social media pages) on the Cleveland Marathon website here.

Can you believe I’ve never been to the Arcade in CLE?  Gorgeous.

And one of me and my biggest cheerleader (and handsome date  )…

It wasn’t too late when we made our way back to the car, knowing I had an early morning ahead of me.  On our way, we couldn’t pass up this photo op!  Thank you to the kind man who saw us trying to take a selfie (yea…) and offered to take one for us.

I found myself at this location again the next two days…at the start/finish of the 8K and at the finish of the marathon, but those are posts for another day.  Stay tuned!

Happy running, my friends!
